Zip was a longtime mechanic in Burkesville, KY. He was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Sam Taylor and Iva Jewell Taylor Harris and the widower of Joyce Hulse Harris. He leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Earl "Zip" Harris age 84 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, September 05, 2015 at Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville.

Funeral service will be Monday, September 07, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Sunday, September 06, 2015 from 4pmCT till 9pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home


Earl (Zip) Harris, 84, Cumberland Co., KY (1930-2015)


He was born in Cumberland County, KY on October 02, 1930. He was the son of the late Sam Taylor and Iva Jewell Taylor Harris. He died Saturday, September 5, 2015, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and three days.

Zip was a longtime mechanic in Burkesville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Hulse Harris, and one brother, Hall Lee Harris.

Survivors include:
  • Three daughters: Joan Harris, Tammy(and Ernest)Anderson,and Donna (and Dennis) Spears all of Burkesville, KY

  • Two Sons: Wayne (and Beverly) Harris of Sparksville, KY and Stephen(and Carrie)Harris of Burkesville, KY

  • Eight Grandchildren: Shawn Harris, Shanna Harris, Megan Acree, Mark Lee, Morrissa Spears, Trevor Harris, Tamara Harris, and Ella Harris

  • Great Grandchildren: Sidney Acree, Paislee Acree, Neila Harris

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
