James Curtis Johnson, 90, Metcalfe Co., KY (d 27 Aug 2015)

He was the son of the late Polie and Eula Melton Johnson. He was of the baptist faith and World War II Army veteran. His wife, Betty Johnson, survives. He leaves five direct and seven step living descendants.

James Curtis Johnson age 90 of Edmonton passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Bowles Cemetery near Center. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pmCT, Friday and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Polie and Eula Melton Johnson. He was of the baptist faith and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife Betty Johnson of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • A daughter: Tina Dobson and husband Dwayne of Greensburg, KY

  • Three step-children: Debbie Cunningham and husband Dave of Clarksville, IN; Tammy Lopez of Edmonton, KY; and Cindy Garmon and husband Joey of Tennessee

  • A daughter in law: Cindy Johnson of Edmonton, KY

  • Two brothers: Haskel Johnson of Henderson, KY; and Jerry Johnson of Rowletts, KY

  • One sister: Christine Adams of Louisville, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Five step grandchildren

  • Two step great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Greg Johnson and several brothers and sisters.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
