Orean Whittle, 83, Russell County, KY (1932-2015)

She as retired from Key Market Grocery as a Deli/Bakery Manager. She was a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Olis & Wilmoth Patterson Bennett and the widow of Odell Whittle. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Orean Whittle, 83, of Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral service for Orean Whittle will be 10amCT, Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Roger Garner officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Sunday, August 30, 2015. Interment in the McBeath Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Hammond, Bobby Jasper, Paul Coffey, Laurel Rexroat, Donald Cooper, and David Sharp.

She was born Sunday, March 27, 1932, in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Olis & Wilmoth Patterson Bennett. She died Friday, August 28, 2015, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 83 years, five months, and one day.

She was retired from Key Market Grocery as a Deli/Bakery Manager. She was a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Whittle; and by a son-in-law, Johnny Grant.

Survivors include:
  • Two children: Pam Grant, Glensfork, KY; and Kenny (Gina) Whittle, Georgetown, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Amanda (Delbert) Abbott, Glensfork, KY; Lacy (Jill) Grant, Glensfork, KY; and Taylor Whittle, Georgetown, KY

  • Five great grandchildren: Madison Grant, Jonathan Grant, Garrett Grant, Mahaylie Abbott, and Aliziah Abbott

  • Five brothers: Laverne (Shannon) Bennett, Russell Springs, KY; Lewis (Stella) Bennett, Russell Springs, KY; Winston (Brenda) Bennett, Columbia, KY; and Paul (Sheila) Bennett, Russell Springs, KY
