William Huston Ervin, Green County (1945-2015)

He was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Little Barren Separate Baptist Church. He was also a self-employed timber cutter. His wife of 50 years, Rebecca Ann Robertson Ervin, survives. He leaves six direct living descendants.

William Huston Ervin, age 70, of Green County, KY, departed this life on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services were conducted at 11amCT, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Little Barren Cemetery. Bro. Joseph Wilcoxson and Bro. Charlie Houk officiated. Pallbearers were Eddie Ervin, Larry Ervin, Gill Ervin, Terry Ervin, Tommy Abner and Thomas Ervin. Honorary pallbearers were Little Barren Separate Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class.

William Huston Ervin of Green County, KY, was the son of the late William Plummar Ervin and Lucille Edwards Ervin. He was born on May 12, 1945 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his home in Green County, KY. He was 70 years, three months, and 11 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Little Barren Separate Baptist Church. He was also a self-employed timber cutter.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca Ann Robertson Ervin, having united in marriage on July 17, 1965.

Other survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Lorie Ervin Richey and Jeff Richey of Glasgow, KY

  • A son and daughter-in-law: Chad Huston Ervin and Carletta Ervin of Greensburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jay Todd Richey of Glasgow, KY; and Colen Ervin, Caleigh Harmon, and Chandler Ervin all of Greensburg, KY

  • Three sisters and brothers-in-law: Barbara and Frankie Young, Eva and Doyle Edwards, and Lisa and Kerry Jeffries all of Greensburg, KY

  • Four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Eddie Ervin, Gill Ervin, Larry and Nellie Ervin, and Terry and Lisa Ervin all of Greensburg, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends


Mr. Ervin was also preceded in death by a grandson: Cody Ervin on December 4, 2010.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
