Carolyn Wilson Toms, Casey County, KY (1935-2015)

She was of the Baptist faith and was a retired cosmetology instructor. She was a native of Casey County, KY, where she will be laid to rest, and a resident of Clark County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late William and Emily Beatrice (Bea) Wilson, and the widow of Leon Kessler Toms. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Carolyn Wilson Toms, age 79 of Winchester, formerly of Liberty, KY, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her home after a long illness.

Funeral Services will be held 12pmCT/1pmET, Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 9amCT/10amET, Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born December 2, 1935 in Liberty, Casey County, KY, a daughter of the late William and Emily Beatrice (Bea) Wilson. She died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Winchester, Clark County, KY, at the age of 79 years, eight months, and 18 days.

She was a retired Cosmetology Instructor with Somerset Beauty School and was of the Baptist Faith.

Carolyn was the widow of Leon Kessler Toms.

Survivors include:
  • One son: Gregory Lee Toms of Louisville, KY

  • One daughter: Emily Carole Toms of Winchester, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kaitlin Grace Toms of Lousiville, KY and Adam Corey Bush of Winchester, KY

  • One brother: J.C. Wilson of Lexington, KY

  • One sister: Loyise Ave of Cincinnati, OH
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were three sisters, Frances Lynn, Maxine Frederick and Virginia Grider; and one brother, Genie Wilson.
