Boyd man faces charges related to child sexual exploitation Arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. A charge is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. By les Williams, Public Information Officer III Public Affairs Branch, KSP, Frankfort, KY Ashland, KY (Fri 14 Aug 2015) - A Boyd County man was arrested on charges related to child sexual exploitation Thursday, August 13, 2015, after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home. Michael Caudill, 25, is charged with one count of distribution and 127 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony, punishable from one to five years in prison. Caudill was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives with the KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after observing Caudill sharing images of child sexual exploitation online including images and video of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts. Caudill is a registered sex offender. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Caudill's residence in Ashland on Thursday, August 13, 2015 by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Officers from the Ashland Police Dept. assisted on scene. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's Forensic Laboratory for examination.
