L.E.A.D.S. program for Adair County dies for lack of second Adair Fiscal Court, Regular Session, August 11, 2015 By Ed Waggener Adair County Judge Executive announced at last night's regular monthly meeting of Adair Fiscal Court that he believed that Adair County businesses were not ready for the L.E.A.D.S online program and that, if no one moved for the approval of a second reading of the ordinance which would have adopted it, the motion would die for lack of a second. Following his lead, and perhaps a minute of silence, he announced the proposal failed. The program, which would have set up a database of all items pawned or sold to re-sellers by individuals would have had to have been entered by businesses into a law enforcement data base. It was opposed by pawn shops, jewelry and gold buyers, many in the recycling business, among others. This story was posted on 2015-08-12 06:07:44
