Lewis Calvin (L. C.) Willis, 82, Adair County, KY (1932-2015)

Columbia United Methodist Church lost a member of its family this morning when Mr. L.C. Willis died just before dawn. He was a member of a distinguished family in Adair County and was a lifelong farmer.

Lewis Calvin "L. C." Willis, 82 years of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 4:45amCT at the Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation begins Wednesday evening after 4pmCT, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.

Lewis Calvin (L. C.) Willis, 82, Adair County, KY (1932-2015)

He was born in Columbia, KY on Tuesday, October 25, 1932. He was the son of the late Alvin C. and Mary Emory Claycomb Willis. He died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 82 years, nine months, and 17 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Bell Willis on March 14, 2014.

Mr. Willis is survived by:
  • One son: David Willis and wife Ginger of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Stephanie Coomer and husband Eric of Columbia, KY

  • Joe Willis and wife Laura of Liberty, KY

  • Five great grandchildren: Payton Coomer, Chase Coomer, Carson Coomer, Virginia Willis and George Willis

  • One sister: Rachel Thiel and husband Al of Louisville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Willis was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church and was a lifelong farmer.
