Media being asked to respect privacy of Sgt. Gibbs' family Kentucky State Police, church, ask that media outlets respect the Gibbs family's privacy as they deal with a very difficult time. The service for Sgt. Gibbs is today at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Tue 11 Aug 2015, at Severns Valley Baptist Church, 1100 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, KY. By Tpr. Jeff Gregory, Public Affairs Officer I want to take this opportunity on behalf of the Gibbs family and the Kentucky State Police to thank the media outlets that have carefully and professionally covered and reported on this terrible tragedy. With that being said, the family has asked for their privacy in this difficult time. Before, during, and after the service Tuesday, August 11, 2015, we will have special areas set up for the media. Officials with Severns Valley Baptist Church on behalf of the family have asked us to ask all media outlets not to enter the building tomorrow. We ask that all media trucks enter the back lower parking lot from the Ring Rd. entrance to the church. There will be Police traffic control that can/will advise you where to go. I will be on hand to instruct you further once you arrive. Anyone with any questions please feel free to call me at (270) 268-7755. I appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your continued understanding while we deal with the loss of our fallen brother. This story was posted on 2015-08-11 04:36:17
