Ruth Cape, Adair County, KY (1938-2015)

Mrs. Cape was a member of the Tabor Community Church and was a retired secretary for Reed Brothers Insurance Company with 32 years of service. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Charlie & Sallie Frances Moore Sneed, and the widow of Preston "Sonny" Cape. She leaves one direct living descendant.

Ruth Cape, 77 years of the Joppa Community of Adair County, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:40 AM at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY after several weeks illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Hadley the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Moore Cemetery, 225 Prices Creek Road, Adair County, KY. The family request visiting on Tuesday from 5pmCT until 8pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

She was born Wednesday, March 16, 1938 in Columbia, Adair County, KY the daughter Charlie & Sallie Frances Moore Sneed. She died Monday, August 3, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 77 years, four months, and 18 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston "Sonny" Cape on February 27, 2002.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Leonard Cape and wife Lucy of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Ralph Sneed of Monticello, KY

  • One sister: Opal Coomer of Edmonton, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • Special friends: Billy and Patricia Hadley of Columbia, KY
Mrs. Cape was a member of the Tabor Community Church and was a retired secretary for Reed Brothers Insurance Company with 32 years of service.
