Micah S. Beard, 63, Casey Co., KY (1952-2015)

Micah was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. He was a licensed insurance agent for State Farm in Liberty. He obtained his Bachelorís Degree from EKU and his Masterís Degree from LSU. Micah was the President of the Casey County Industrial Development. He was the former Executive Vice-President and CEO of Farmers Deposit Bank. He was the former Vice-President and Trust Officer for the Casey County Bank. Micah was the former Casey County Treasurer and former Casey County DES Coordinator. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders of Kentucky.

Micah S. Beard, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 63.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Reverend Dr. Joey Murphy presiding. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by the Casey County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, and after 6amCT/8pmET, on Wednesday, both at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Mark and John Luke Beard, Forrest Cook, Billy Morris, Joe Wesley, Tommy Weddle, Phillip Scott, and Glen Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Binkey Kerbaugh, David Grider, Jerry King, PD Depp, Lee Redmond, William Shoopman, and Doug Johnson.

Born April 7, 1952, in Casey Co., KY, he was a son of the late John E. Beard, Sr. and Ruth Tarter Beard. He died Sunday, August 2, 2015, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 63 years, three months, and 26 days.

Survivors include the following:
  • His children: Kyle Beard (and wife, Lyndsey) of Bowling Green, KY; and Jessica Collier (and husband, Henry) of White House, TN

  • Brother: John E. Beard (and wife, Carol) of Liberty, KY

  • Sisters: Rebecca Wesley of Liberty and Debra Ruth Beard of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Aubrey, Savannah, and Sadie Jo

  • His partner in life and business: Debbie Tremblay of Liberty, KY

  • A host of nieces and nephews

  • And two grandchildren on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Maurice Tarter Beard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Donation forms will be available at the funeral home.
