Ralph Waggener: What comes next after a plan has been made?

The one thing a project like the covered sidewalks will do is get all Columbians to thinking of ways to make Columbia better and that's what is most important!

By Ralph Waggener

We have had many a plan made to do big things, one I can remember was the city swimming pool built by hands on work of Columbia business men.

A lot of these men were World War II veterans.

Since this job was completed the hard way by a lot of hand on hard work, I don't know of very many plans that were, well, anything but just plans.

Not to be out of order, but good plans have to have what follows and that is action on these plans!

A covered walk will enhance the looks of Columbia, but will it bring much business back to the Public Square?

Like the old Adair Court House and LWC's silo - it will make people traveling through Columbia remember it as a nice place, will do the same for prospective industry it will help.

Much more than that, it will help build pride back into Columbians and show others that we care about our city.

The Public Square as a business place will be helped, no doubt;, how much who knows.

The one thing a project like the covered sidewalks will do is get all Columbians to thinking of ways to make Columbia better and that's what is most important!

Thinks for letting me write my opinions; just hope it's of at least a little help! - Ralph Roy Waggener, Mostly out of order

What does it take to make it work? not what won't work! - RRW
