She was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Ollie Pelley Lemmon, and the widow of Edgar Davis. She leaves 33 direct living descendants

Dora L. Davis age 94 years formerly of the Pellyton community in Adair County passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:05 AM at the Brookdale Assistant Living in Pensacola, FL

Funeral services will be Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Lew Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Pellyton Cemetery, 100 Pellyton East Road, Pellyton, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Friday at the funeral home.



Dora L. Davis, 94, Adair Co., KY (1921-2015)

She was born on Friday, March 11, 1921 in Pellyton, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Ollie Pelley Lemmon. She died Monday, July 20 2015, in Pensacola, Escambia County, FL, at the age of 94 years, four months, and nine days.

She was the widow of Edgar Davis, who preceded her in death on March 10, 1996.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Nancy Bryant of Pensacola, FL

  • Two sons: Lew (Sandy) Davis of Divide, Colorado; and Larry (Sandy) Davis of Burlington, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Lucille Lemmon of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Twenty-three great grandchildren

  • Several other relatives and friends
She was preceded in by three sisters, Arieta Barnett, Emma Wilkerson and Opal Nankivell; four brothers Loren Lemmon, Hollis Lemmon, Carl Lemmon & an infant brother

She was of the Baptist faith and had worked at a Medical Equipment Manufacturing in Cincinnati, OH
