Heartland Parkway first phase will start in Columbia, KY

Red letter day news for South Central Kentucky, particularly Columbia & Campbellsville, KY: Columbia Manufacturer Rob Wilkerson says it's good news for Green River Commerce Park. He says the prospect who has approached him and other community leaders is a metal fabricator attracted to Columbia's strategic highway location. He said that the prospect also is attracted because of the success of the welding program at Adair County High School. - CM

A good friend of mine told me this afternoon (Wed 8 Jul 2016) that the state is going to build the Heartland Parkway from Columbia at the Adair County Veterans Memorial Parkway to the Adair/Taylor County line. The project will cost $10 million. The Department of Transportation will be making a press release in the next couple of weeks, my source said.

This will be great news for Adair County and should help the Green River Commerce Park, as I know personally of industry which may focus on this county when this project is complete. Thanks. - Rob Wilkerson
