Charlotte Kay Shearer, Adair County, KY (1948-2015)

She was a member of Sparksville Baptist Church and a former Medical Tech. She was a native of Pike County, KY, the daughter of the late Preston and Ida Elswick Tackett. She was the widow of David Shearer, who preceded her in death seven months ago. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Charlotte Kay Shearer, 66, of Columbia, KY, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at 4:09pmCT, at her home, after an illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Darrell Landis officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, July 7, 2015.



Casket bearers: Charlie Hackett, Fred Whitaker, James Whitaker, Randy Wood, Tyler Yates, and Pat Furkin.

Charlotte Kay Shearer, Adair County, KY (1948-2015)

She was born November 11, 1948, in Virgie, Pike County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Preston and Ida Elswick Tackett. She died Friday, July 3, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 66 years, six months, and 22 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Shearer on December 1, 2014.

She was a member of Sparksville Baptist Church and a former Medical Tech.

Survivors include:
  • Three daughters:Ida Shearer and Sherry Shearer, both of Columbia, KY; and Kim (Randy) Wood of Edmonton, KY

  • One son: Tony (Laura) Tackett of Chicago, IL

  • Two grandchildren: Stephanie (Tyler) Yates of Columbia, KY; and Laura (Tyler) Beddow of Owensboro, KY

  • One great-grandchild: Carlee

  • Several other relatives and friends
