Carol Perkins: Is anyone really interested in Bruce Jenner?

Carol Perkins takes a look at the meaninglessness of many popular Tv programs, and wonders, Who is really interested in the Bachelorette? If she is an example of a modern woman then I'm glad I'm old (sort of old).'

Personal commentary

Is anyone who is really interested in Bruce Jenner? Does he warrant three covers of People Magazine in the last six weeks? If this continues I must protest by cancelling my subscription. That'll get their attention.

Whether he is a woman or a man does not interest me

Bruce Jenner isn't the first to go through this process

He isn't the first nor will he be last to go through this process.

Chasity Bono. Remember her? Why would anyone want to document a transformation for strangers? Money? Fame (more of it)? To help others? I don't know; I just don't want to turn on GMA and the evening news to find him (her) as a featured story night after night.

Frankly, I was dismayed that Diane Sawyer found this interesting enough to do an hour interview. Ok, so I did watch it.people have acted heroically and courageously by facing insurmountable odds without fear, sacrificing safety and comfort to help others, and leading through serving the less fortunate.

Is there anyone who is really interested in the Duggar family? There are probably more than a few who have watched this story unfold. Actually, I have heard more hate talk about this situation through the media than I have heard about ISIS. At least this story will perk up some families who question situations they think might be occurring.

Who is telling the truth and who isn't doesn't matter

Who is telling the truth and who isn't doesn't matter to me. I have no vested interested in this family and don't want to hear about them on every major news channel. They need to work this out without jackleg advice. However, I do have my thoughts because I have watched each show for the last few years because it was so unlike any family I knew. Guess that was right.

Who is really interested in the Bachelorette? If she is an example of a modern woman then I'm glad I'm old (sort of old). Kissing every man on the first night was "normal" for her. She said, "I'm looking for a husband so, of course, I'm going to kiss them."

Is she really wife/mother material

I'm not sure if I were one of the men in the group I would find her wife/mother-of-my-children material. She kissed more men in one night than I have in a lifetime. I watch the show because of the young man from Columbia. He seems like a very nice young man who would not find her behavior acceptable, but I'll have to wait to see.

Writer can't believe, either, that she watches this stuff

Friends will say, "I can't believe you watch this stuff." You know what, I can't believe it either because I actually don't care about any of them. Guess that is why I watch-I have no interest in the outcome(s). At least I'm not watching the Kardashians or The Wives of Whatever County. - Carol Perkins
