KY Animal Control Board offers spay/neuter grants up to $2,50 By Ted Sloan News from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture FRANKFORT, Ky. - Local governments and nonprofits are invited to apply for grants from the Kentucky Animal Control Advisory Board to help Kentuckians spay and neuter their pets. "This funding will enable citizens to care for their pets while addressing a public health and safety issue," Agriculture Commissioner James Comer said. "We're pleased that we can help fiscal courts and 501(c)(3) organizations provide this important service." Applicants may request up to $2,500. Applicants must submit information about their operation and describe the spay/neuter programs that will utilize the funding. Completed applications sent to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture via email must be submitted by midnight July 15. Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2015. The Kentucky Animal Control Advisory Board is administered by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. The spay/neuter program is funded by sales of Kentucky's spay/neuter license plate. The board also accepts donations to the program. For more information, or to download an application, go to Kyspayneuter.com . To get a spay/neuter license plate, ask your county clerk when you renew your vehicle license. This story was posted on 2015-06-01 15:49:14
