Osburn Roy, 75, Russell County, KY (1939-2015)

He was a retired banker having worked as Senior Vice President and Branch Manager at Bank of Jamestown. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Leventus & Ercie Gosser Roy. His wife, Loureda Wilson Roy, survives. He leaves five direct and three step living descendants.

Osburn Roy, 75, of Russell Springs, KY, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home.

Funeral service for Osburn Roy will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at the Union Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Wade & Bro. Larold Gosser officiating. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at the funeral home and after 9amCT, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at the church. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery. Special music will be by Andrew Rexroat and Sam Wade.



Active Pallbearers: Dante Carpenter, Greg Redmon, Meredith Scales, Larry Emerson, Ross Russell, and Michael Selby.

Honorary Pallbearers: William McGruder, Don Cooper, Larry Miller, Sharon Hill, Linda McFarland, Anita Tucker, and Linda Baird.

He was born August 13, 1939 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Leventus & Ercie Gosser Roy. He died Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 75 years, nine months, and 17 days.

He was a retired banker having worked as Senior Vice President and Branch Manager at Bank of Jamestown. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Obren Lee Roy.

Survivors include his wife, Loureda Wilson Roy, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Two children: Beverly (James) Grimes, Reggie (Sarah) Roy, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Brandon (Sherry) Selby, and Madelyn Roy, all of Russell Springs, KY

  • One step grandaughter: Brittany Michelle Grimes

  • One great grandson: Grider Nolan Selby

  • Two step great grandaughters: Ella Denise Robertson and Emery-Kate Robertson

  • One sister: Shirley (James) Tarter, Russell Springs, KY
The family request memorials to Union Baptist Church Youth Fund or Union Cemetery. These can be made at funeral home or church.
