Joe Crawhorn, Jr. 85, Adair County, KY (1929-2015)

He was a member of a highly regarded Adair County, KY family, the son of the late Joe & Lou Bell Coomer Crawhorn. His wife, Emily Mroch Crawhorn, survives. He leaves 30 direct living descendants. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville and a retired welder. His final resting place will be in his native Adair County, KY.

Joe Crawhorn, Jr., 85, of Shelbyville, KY, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:30pmET at his home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home,, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Henry Loppnow and Pastor Daniel Guagenti officiating. Burial in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born Saturday, October 26, 1929, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Joe and Lou Bell Coomer Crawhorn. He died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in Shelbyville, Shelby County, KY, at the age of 85 years, five months, and 24 days.

He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville and a retired welder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda West. Survivors include:
  • His wife: Emily Mroch Crawhorn of Shelbyville, KY

  • Two sons: Ralph (Sheri) Crawhorn of Richmond, KY; and Shelby (Cynthia) Crawhorn of Chicago, IL

  • One daughter: Patricia (Mike) Staggs of Crossville, TN

  • One brother: Bruce Crawhorn of Chicago, IL

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Eighteen great-grandchildren
