Mark Dykes was elected chair of the Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority at its Tuesday, May 19, 2015 meeting. He succeeds Dan Antle.

The authority also elected Tony Corbin vice chair, re-elected Randy Burns as secretary, and re-elected Mike Curry as treasurer.

Dean Adams was welcomed as a newly appointed member of the board.

Tony Corbin presided at the meeting.

Deputy CJE Holly Grimsley updated authority members on Community Day to be held in Frankfort in June.

The members also voted to get quotes on expanding a Build Ready Pad at Green River Commerce Park to accommodate a building of up to 75,000 square feet. Member Anthony Janes agreed to bring back three quotes from qualified - preferably Adair County - contractors. Presiding member Tony Corbin said that if the cost is under $20,000, the authority could let a contract without going through a bid process.

Members were queried about updates on the new hotel to be built at Holladay Place, but one one at the meeting had new information on when the project would be started.

Mr. Corbin brought the members up to date on a new registration required of the organization as a Special Purpose Government Entity (SPGE); CACEDA will have to register and submit financial disclosure by July 15, 2015, he said.

Present at the meeting were Acting Chair Tony Corbin, Randy Burns, Dean Adams, Mark Dykes, Ann Martin and Anthony Janes, voting members of the authority. Mike Curry, treasurer, was not in attendance. Ex Officio member Mayor Curtis Hardwick and Adair CJE Mike Stephens, along with Deputy CJE Holly Grimsley, were present, as were members of major Columbia media.

The next meeting of CACEDA is Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 8amCT, at the Chamber Building, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY.
