Curtis "Poppy" Risen, age 85 of Louisville, KY, passed away Friday at the Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

The funeral services for Curtis "Poppy" Risen will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY, with burial to follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery in Green County. The graveside services will be held at approximately 12:30pmCT, at the Holly Grove Cemetery. Visitation is requested from 12pm-7pmCT/1pm-8pmET, Tuesday at the Owen Funeral Home, Dixie H

He was born in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. At one time he worked for Canada Dry.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Curtis Ford Risen, Jr. and Flossie Wright Risen.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Elizabeth Risen of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • His children: Bonnie & Tony Hill, Danny and Diane Risen, Jeanne Risen, Robert "Bobby" and Pam Risen, and Sonny Risen all of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren
