Ronald Gene Roy of Liberty, KY (1941-2015)

He was a former employee of Tarter Gate and a farmer. He was a ntive of Casey County and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Roy & Lorene Coffey Chapman Roy. His wife of over 52 years, Louise Hambrick Roy, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Ronald Gene Roy passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home in the Teddy Hill Community of Casey County, KY. He was 73.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Ronald Gene Roy will be laid to rest in 910 Full Gospel Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday,5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at the funeral home.


Pallbearers are Lucas Wilson, Adam Luttrell, Billy Roy, Edward Nolt, Vernon Lee, and Paul Luttrell.

Honorary pallbearers are Otha Byrd, Cleo Whittle, Don Reed, and Mark Roy.

Ronald Gene Roy of Liberty, Kentucky (1941-2015)


Born on July 7, 1941 in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late Columbus Roy and Lorene Coffey Chapman Roy. He died Sunday, May 10, 2015, at his home in Teddy Hill Community, of Casey County, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and three days.

He was a former employee of Tarter Gate and a farmer.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Louise Hambrick Roy, whom he married on December 22, 1962, and the following:
  • Three children: Timmy Roy of Dunnville, KY; Mark Roy of Liberty, KY; and Tonya Roy of Liberty, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Cheralyn Hatfield, Cassie Blevins, Tiffany Roy, Chelsea Lawhorn, and Lucas Wilson

  • Five great grandchildren

  • A brother: Jackie (and Edith) Roy of Dunnville, KY

  • Four sisters: Opal Bernard of Dunnville, KY; Josephine (and Lloyd) Wilson of Liberty, KY; Louise (and Don) Thomas of Liberty, KY; and Brenda (and Earl) Wilson of Liberty, KY

  • and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Junior, Kelly, Lester, and Bobby Roy.
