Esther McDonald, Edmonton, KY (d. 3 May 2015)

She was the daughter of the late Freeland and Annie Coffey Gilley. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She leaves seven direct and five step living descendants. She was the widow of Gilbert (Bill) DeVore and Thomas E. McDonald. She was a member of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ. Esther was a retired realtor after 27 years and former president of Kay Bledsoe BPW

Esther McDonald age 95 of Glasgow, KY, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care in Scottsville, KY.

Funeral services will be held 10amCT, Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Freeland and Annie Coffey Gilley. She was a member of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ. Esther was a retired realtor after 27 years and former president of Kay Bledsoe BPW.

She is survived by the following:
  • A daughter: Connie Baker of Glasgow, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Lisa (Bobby) Hunley, Samuel Allen (Stephanie) Slinker and Everett Wayne (Eden) Baker all of Glasgow, KY; and Bethany DeVore of Bowling Green, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Reagan and Madison Hunley both of Glasgow, KY

  • Five step great grandchildren" Briana Brooks, Russ Brooks, Dakota Cradock, Hunter Alford and Keirsten Alford all of Glasgow, KY
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilbert (Bill) DeVore and Thomas E. McDonald; a son, Gil DeVore and ten brothers and sisters.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
