Susie Handy, 63, of Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 4:40pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia, KY.

Graveside service will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 1pmCT, in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Bob McCann officiating, with burial to follow. There will be no visitation.

She was born Tuesday, September 25, 1951, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Emma Franklin. She died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 63 years, seven months, and four days.

She was a former factory worker, working at Osh Kosh and Fruit of the Loom. Survivors include:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Tim Montgomery of Columbia, KY

  • Her special grandson: Eric (Candace) Schorman

  • Two special great-grandchildren: Jayden and Katelynn Schorman

  • One special step-grandchild: Briana Stapleton

  • Four brothers: Clurel "Doc" (Gail) Murphy and Elmo (Odean) Franklin all of Columbia, KY; David (Jenny) Murphy of Bowling Green, KY; and Martin Lewis Bryant

  • Three sisters: Lilly Mae Franklin of Greensburg, KY; Dorothy Murphy and Maggie Grider, both of Columbia, KY

  • Her former husband: Greg Handy

  • Several other relatives and friends
