Doris Mary Bailey, 74, Bardstown, KY (d. Thu 26 Mar 2015)

She was a member of a highly regarded Adair County, KY family. She leaves seven direct living descendants. She is remembered in Columbia, KY, as a pioneering woman. She was the first female member of the Columbia Police Department.

Doris Mary Bailey, 74, of Bardstown, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 3, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 4618 N Old Highway 41, Springfield, TN with burial in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday from 4pm-6pmCT, at Serenity Funeral Home in Springfield, TN.



Survivors include:
  • One son: Darrell Bailey of Bardstown, KY

  • Two daughters: Vanessa Bailey of Springfield, TN and Shellon Waters of Bardstown

  • Two grandchildren

  • And four great-grandchildren
