Seven Adair Busses getting Race to the Top funded Wi-FI

District has blocked access to certain sites

By Shamarie Claiborne, Media Publicity Coordinator
Adair Count School District

Ronnie Bryant, Donnie Curry, and Tony Gabehart were all working hard in the bus garage yesterday. They were installing Wi-Fi on one of the seven busses that through the Race to the Top - kid-FRIENDLy grant the district has been able to purchase.

Students will be allowed to use phones, tablets, and laptops while riding the school bus.

Of course, the district has blocked access to certain sites and has policies in place to ensure student safety and security while online.

Mr. Reed stated he is "proud the Race to the Top - kid-FRIENDLy grant is making it possible for us to get ahead of the curve in this new trend in education." The grant has also allowed the district to purchase three remote routers that can be taken any where the district feels there is a need.

The digital revolution in Adair County Schools is hitting the road, allowing students the opportunity to personalize their learning.
