He was a native of Adair County, KY, and will be laid to rest in the county of his birth. He was the son of the late Robert & Alta Price Akin. His wife, Phyllis Coomer Akin, survives. He leaves 31 direct living descendants. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Bro. Stanley Watson the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery, 3422 Wheeler Hill Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the funeral home.
