She was a native of Russell County and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daugahter of the late Lonnie & Della Lee Smith Popplewell. Her husband, J.D. Hadley, survives. She was a former sales clerk at Pickett's Shoe Store. She was a member of French Valley United Methodist Church

Marene Hadley, 90, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral service for Marene Hadley will be 10amCT, Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Barry Bradshaw and Bro. Charles Edwards officiating. Friends may call from 5pm-8pmCT Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Russell Springs City Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Steve Rexroat, Charles Murrell, Burl Hadley, Chad Brown, Craig Leach, and Jefffery Smith.

She was born Saturday, May 3, 1924 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie & Della Lee Smith Popplewell. She died Saturday, March 21, 2015, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 18 days.

She was a former sales clerk at Pickett's Shoe Store and was a member of French Valley United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Murrell and three brothers, Welby Popplewell, Orba Popplewell, amd Huey Popplewell.

She is survived by her husband, J. D. Hadley.
