Norma F. Scott, 81, Bliss Community (1933-2015)

She was a member of highly regarded South Central Kentucky Family. She was the daughter of the late Rev. A.R. & Lucretia Catherine Sullivan Helm. Her husband, Kenneth Scott, survives. She leaves four direct living descendants. Norma was so glad to use her God given gift of piano and organ playing as a service to God and others, playing for many funeral services and churches, including the ones her father pastored and held revivals in. This was a joy to her and others. Norma played by ear and her first memory of playing was at three years old. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, taught school in Adair County for seven years and a homemaker.

Norma F. Scott, 81, of the Bliss community, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 3:45pmCT, at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Funeral service, Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with Rev. William Davenport officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation on Saturday from 4pm-8pmCT at the funeral home.



Casket Bearers: Elliot Holland, Kate Holland, Mike Holland, Bill Wheat, Phillip Bardin, J.M. Shelley, and Alex Holland.


Norma F. Scott, 81, Bliss Community (1933-2015)


She was born May 20, 1933, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Rev. A.R. and Lucretia Catherine Sullivan Helm. She died Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Red Boiling Springs, Macon County, TN, at the age of 81 years, nine months, and 29 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, A.R. Helm, Jr., and a sister, Hildred Juanita Baise.

Norma was so glad to use her God given gift of piano and organ playing as a service to God and others, playing for many funeral services and churches, including the ones her father pastored and held revivals in. This was a joy to her and others. Norma played by ear and her first memory of playing was at three years old. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, taught school in Adair County for seven years and a homemaker. Survivors include:

Her husband of 63 years: Kenneth Scott of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Her daughter & son-in-law: Cheryl Ann & Mike Holland of Bowling Green, KY

  • One sister: Joyce Reeder of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Michael Elliot Holland of Bowling Green, KY; and Ann Katherine Holland of New York City.

  • One great-grandchild: Christian Alexander Holland

  • Several other relatives and friends
