Dorothy (Dottie) Phillips, 88, Casey Co., KY (1926-2015)

She was a charter member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio. She was a native of Casey County, KY, the daughter of the late Alph and Hestle Wethington Ewing, and was the widow of Chester Phillips. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Cemetery in Clementsville, KY.

Dorothy "Dottie" Phillips, 88 of Northridge, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

Funeral services are 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 5075 S. KY 551, Liberty, Clementsville, KY. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery. Visitation is after 9amCT/10amET, Saturday at the church.



Dorothy "Dottie" Phillips, 88, Casey Co., KY (1926-2015)


Born May 31, 1926 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Alph and Hestle Wethington Ewing. She died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Northridge, Ohio, at the age of 88 years, nine months, and 17 days.

She was a charter member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester W. Phillips, who died March 19, 2006; a sister, Alene Allen; and 2 brothers, Bud and Alton Ewing.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Ron (and Becky) Phillips and Larry (and Marty) Phillips

  • Eight grandchildren: Tim, Amy, Staci, Tess, Andrew, Joseph, Tony, and Chelsey

  • Ten great-grandchildren: Austin, Jami, Baily, Nick, Hannah, Matt, Megan, Luke, Emma, and Christopher

  • And other relatives and many friends
