She was a native of Casey County, KY, the daughter of the late Alph and Hestle Wethington Ewing, and was the widow of Chester Phillips. Visitation is after 9amCT/10amET, Saturday at the church. She died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Northridge, Ohio, at the age of 88 years, nine months, and 17 days. She was a charter member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester W. Phillips, who died March 19, 2006; a sister, Alene Allen; and 2 brothers, Bud and Alton Ewing.
