Kathleen Powell, 86 years formerly of the Glensfork Community of Adair County passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 1pmCT at the Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service: Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery at Glensfork, KY. The family request visiting after 4:30pmCT, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


Pallbearers: Collin Dykes, Mark Dykes, Marty Dykes, Reid Grant, Wally Grant, and Dwayne Loy.

Kathleen Powell, 86, Adair County, KY (1928-2015)

She was born in Glensfork, Adair County, KY on May 5, 1928 the daughter of the late Herbert and Bertha Grant Huddleston. She died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and five days.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Willard Powell on October 7, 1971, and by these brothers and sister: Ben Huddleston, William Huddleston and Christine Andrew.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sisters: Maxine Dykes of Glensfork, KY; Earnesteen Bryson of Columbia, KY; and Nadine Scott of Columbia, KY
  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Powell was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
