Travel North: Road Conditions - KYTC District 4 KYTC District 4 includes Green & Taylor Counties in the CM 7-County primary coverage area, and other counties to our north. District 4 includes a major part of I-65 travelled daily of viewers in our primary counties.- CM By Chris Jessie, Public Information Officer Kentucky Transportatin Cabinet, District 4, Elizabethtown, KY ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (4:52amCT, Fri 6 Mar 2015) - Overnight, KYTC crews plowed all state maintained routes. With temperatures below zero in some locations, chemical treatments were not an option overnight. Plowing will continue this morning and we are beginning to lay salt along routes. Packed snow and refreezing conditions are common this morning. I-65 South of Elizabethtown - Semi blockages from Wednesday night are now cleared and motorists who were stuck through Hart County were able to make their way north on Thursday evening. There were several semis which would not start or could not move in the queue. Other vehicles were able to "snake" through. The stalled semis were removed overnight. New incidents have blocked the interstate in other locations overnight. A semi crash northbound near Munfordville at Exit 65 is now clear. A southbound crash just south of the interchange still has traffic blocked in the left lane. The semi jumped a barrier wall and is being removed. This is not an easy removal. A 3-hour duration is expected. Motorists much chose the right lane at the construction zone split at Mile Point 64. I-65 Near Elizabethtown - A northbound crash near Exit 91 is blocking all lanes. Traffic is being diverted off At Exit 91 to continue north. We are expecting to have this cleared soon. I-65 North Of Elizabethtown - This area received the heaviest snow from Wednesday night and with plowing efforts on Thursday, traffic is moving slow but freely between Elizabethtown and Lebanon Junction. BG / WK Parkways - Both are open through the district. Slick in places. Slow down. US / KY Routes - Many of these are still covered and very slick. We have no full closures at this time. Motorists who travel this morning should slow down. The continuation of incidents overnight underlines the message that road surface conditions will not allow drivers to overspeed. Slow down. Crews have worked tirelessly with all available resources over the past 48 hours preparing for and fighting the effects of this historic winter storm. Assist them by being cautious and diving safe. More incidents will continue to stretch the capabilities of all who respond. Motorists are reminded to call 911 for emergencies. Please do not use 911 to obtain traffic conditions.
