Travel Tip: Gas Tank levels affect traction By Jon Halsey A conversation over coffee this morning made me aware that "Sunny South" natives might not be aware of a bit of advice that those of us from the "Frozen North" take for granted. When deep snow abounds and travel is necessary, it is important to keep your gas tank at least half full, particularly for rear drive vehicles. Not only in cases of emergency but primarily because the extra weight over or near the rear wheels gives much needed added traction. - Jon Halsey, Knifley, KY This story was posted on 2015-02-16 14:14:33
