Chance Barnett helps grant birthday wish for 9 year old boy

Chance Barnett saw a video which deeply impressed him. 'I knew I had to do something. It just called out to me.' he said. He called on a very special group of rising stars, his ACHS Class of 2016. When Barnett and Robin Mantooth approached them with the proposal, everyone was on board. The students devoted a class period to writing letters and sending their love and support to Bubby. Fellow teacher Amanda Randolph supplied the stickers, and the students mailed the letters and stickers on February 9, 2015.

Adair County High School senior Chance Barnett was deeply impacted when he came across a video of 8 year old, Bubby Everson of Graham, Washington. Everson's ninth birthday was February 11, 2015, and all he wished for was mail and stickers. Bubby has Cytomegalovirus or CMV. Usually this is a harmless virus, but it can also be fatal. This disease causes him to suffer from autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, deafness, scoliosis, and also confines him to a wheelchair.

When Barnett saw this video:Bubby Everson/YouTube he knew he needed to respond. He talked to his 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Robyn Mantooth, and asked if his class could get involved. Mantooth was also moved by Bubby's story and couldn't say no.
