LWC's Pinkard takes 5th in heptathlon at Findlay Classic

FINDLAY, Ohio - Tylor Pinkard accumulated 3,761 total points en route to finishing in fifth place in the heptathlon event on the final day of the Findlay Classic on Saturday.


Pinkard entered the day in third place with 2,310 points after the four events on Friday, but slipped two spots in the final standings after the final three events on Saturday.

The day began with the 60 meter hurdles event as Pinkard ran a 9.86 to capture fifth place in the race. In the pole vault competition, he reached a height of 1.70 meters (10-00.00 feet), good enough for fourth place.

In the final event of the heptathlon, Pinkard concluded the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:16.25 in fourth place to bring his point total to 3,761. He fell just 53 points behind fourth-place finisher Jacob Miller of Findlay (Ohio).

Zac Gnadinger, also competing in the heptathlon, took eighth place with a 12.75 in the 60 meter hurdles event. In the pole vault, Gnadinger achieved a career-best height of 2.85 meters (9-04.25 feet) to place sixth. He would finish the heptathlon in eighth place with 2,082 total points.
