Georgia Thelma Moody, age 82 of Tompkinsville, Ky. died January 21, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 24 at 1pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with burial to follow in the Bushong Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday January 23, 2015from 4pmCT to 8pmCT, at the funeral home and after 7amCT on the Saturday, until funeral time.

Georgia Moody, Monroe Co. KY (1931-2015)

Born February 4, 1931 in Waterview, Cumberland County, KY, she Was the daughter of the late Fred Douglas and Mattie Barksdale Moody. She died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

She was a housekeeper and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Alma Moody of Tompkinsville, KY; and Kathelene (Miss Kitty) Moody of Louisville, KY

  • Three sons: Tommy and Wendell Moody of Tompkinsville, KY; and Freddie (Pansy) Moody of Danville, KY

  • One sister Iva Lee Coe of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two grandchildren Tiara Bush and Lori Moody

  • Four great grandchildren: Garren, DyiRon, Haven and Canaan Moody.
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by one sister Nettie Kate Bailey, three brothers Willie T. Truman (TL) and Marvin Moody. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation, Heart Association or the Diabetes Association and can be left at the funeral home.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, in charge of arrangements.
