He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army, a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post # 124, and the V.F.W. James L. Pruitt Post #5813.

Mr. M. Rey Yarberry, 85, of Greensburg, Green County, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Facility in Hodgenville, Kentucky.

The funeral services for Mr. M. Rey Yarberry will be conducted at 10amCT, Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Rev. Emma Nickel will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Friday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Larry Bishop, Troy Bishop, J.R. Bishop, William L. Rattliff, Chris Dobson, Eli Milby, Ralph Clark , and Scott Humphrey.

Honorary Pallbearers: Roger Henderson Chad Dobson Phillip Mitchell Troy Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Gordon Judd , Don Lowe, Billy Dean Coffey, Mel Salsman, Bobby Garmon, Shane Garmon ,Robert Paxton, Eddie Paxton.

Mr. M. Rey Yarberry of Greensburg, Kentucky, was the son of the late Ben Yarberry and Polly Estes Yarberry. He was born on March 21, 1929 in New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Facility in Hodgenville, LaRue County, Kentucky. He was 85 years, 9 months, and 23 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. He was a retired 34 year employee for the Greensburg Bottling Company and was a farmer. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army, a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post # 124, and the V.F.W. James L. Pruitt Post #5813.

His survived by his wife of 61 years, Laverne Henderson Yarberry having united in marriage on December 20, 1953.

Other survivors include:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: John and Susan Yarberry of Franklin, Tennessee

  • A sister-in-law: Faye Wright of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Mr. Yarberry was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters: Paul Yarberry, Gertrude Lane, and Blanche West. Send a condolence to the family of M. Rey Yarberry

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, which can be made at the funeral home.
