Lisa Rudzinski named Director of Kentucky State Park Rangers New Director of Kentucky State Park Rangers was resident of Columbia, KY while stationed at KSP Post 15 early in her career Click on headline for complete story By Gil Lawson FRANKFORT, KY - Lisa M. Rudzinski, a former Kentucky State Police officer, has been named the director of the Ranger Division for the Kentucky State Parks, Commissioner Elaine Walker announced today, Monday, January 12, 2015. Rudzinski replaces Joe West, who was named director of law enforcement for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. “We are sorry to lose Joe West, but I believe he will serve the needs of the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources very well,” Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said. “I believe Lisa will be able to make a seamless transition into this position with her excellent law enforcement background and experience.” Rudzinski spent more than 21 years with the state police before retiring in July of 2014. She began as a trooper and was promoted, eventually serving as post commander at London, Bowling Green and Richmond between 2008 and 2013. She also served as the deputy director for the state police administrative division, which includes human resources, strategic planning and media relations. Rudzinski, a Bowling Green native who lives in Lexington, has a degree in communications and leadership development from the University of Kentucky. She is the first woman to head the state park rangers and is among the first women to lead a statewide law enforcement division. Kentucky State Park rangers provide public safety and law enforcement services at 49 state parks.
