She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of Green County, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughgter of the late Albert & Elsie Coomer Vaughn and was raised by the late Buford & Rudell Vaughn. Her husband, Woodrow Blankenship, survives. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Glenda Carol Blankenship, 64, of Greensburg, KY, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:15pmET. at the Kentucky One St. Mary’s Health Care, in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Gerald Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Monday, January 12, 2015, at the funeral home.

She was born Friday, March 10, 1950 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Albert & Elsie Coomer Vaughn and was raised by the late Buford & Rudell Vaughn.

She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Woody Blankenship of Greensburg, KY

  • One daughter: Melinda Rhoads of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Eddie Vaughn of Greensburg, KY

  • Special niece: Melissa Harmon of Nashville, TN

  • Six grandchildren

  • Two great-grandchildren

  • Along with a host of other relatives and friends
