Dossie Marie Allen, Casey County, KY (1922-2015)

She was a housewife and member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Ms. Dossie enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working on the farm. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late James Robert and Lois Wethington Lee and the widow of Carl Allen. She leaves 18 direct living descendants.

Dossie Allen passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Liberty Care Center, LIberty, KY. She was 92.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday, January 12, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Road, Liberty, KY, with Bros. Hershel Lawhorn, Keith Nichols, and Edward Parton officiating. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, January 11, 2014, from 2pm-7pmCT/3pm-8pmET, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born April 15, 1922 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Lois Wethington Lee. She died Saturday, January 10, 2015, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 92 years, eight months, and 26 days.

She was a housewife and member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Ms. Dossie enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working on the farm.

Survivors include the following:
  • A son, Dale (and Imogene) Allen of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Alta Jean (and Norman) Nield of Harrodsburg, KY; and Barbara Dean (and Deward) Riddle of Liberty, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Nine great-grandchildren

  • Four great-great-grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Robert Lee of Liberty, KY; Willis Lee of Liberty, KY; and Ronnie Lee of Charlestown, Indiana

  • Four sisters: Delores Pinkerton of Liberty, KY; Frances Riley of Elkton, KY; Alice Harper of Tennessee, and Freida Siegel of Indiana

  • A daughter -in- lawL Hazel Ann Allen of Shelbyville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Allen, who died June 16, 1996; a son, Roy Glen Allen; two daughters, Joyce Ann Allen and Charolette Kay Allen; brothers, Buell and Ewell Lee; sisters, Dorothy Hardwick and Opal Alene Emerson; and several other brothers and sisters.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Whited Cemetery Building Fund C/O of Barbara Riddle.

    Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home 752 Cambellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
