His wife, Dorothy (Weddle) Russell, survives. He leaves 16 direct living descendants. He was a member of Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a farmer.

Hugh Russell, 81, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Fairoaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral services will be at Pine Grove United Baptist Church, at Gosser Ridge, at 1pmCT, on Tuesday, January 6, 2014, with Bro. Delvin Wilson officiating. Visitation will be after 10amCT, on Tuesday, at Pine Grove United Baptist Church. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.

Hugh was born in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY on September 17, 1933. He was a son of the late Mary Louetta (Wilson) and Thomas Blair Russell. He died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Fairoaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

He was a member of Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Weddle) Russell, Jamestown, KY and the following: He is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Deborah Gosser, of Russell Springs, KY; and Tamela Sue (Lee) Darnell, of Clayton, GA

  • Five grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • Two sisters in law: Gladys Russell of Russell Springs, KY; and Edith Russell, Ludlow, IL

  • and a host of neices and nephews who mourn his passing
