About: Nathan D. Hale, Adair Co., KY, Russell Co., KY native (1934-2015)

By Kayla Garrison

This morning I was sad to hear the passing of Mr. Nathan Hale. Growing up at Trinity United Methodist Church he was always an amazing leader in the church and I wanted to take a moment to honor him for his example in my own life.

As a little girl I can always remember Nathan being a huge part of the service. He never missed a Sunday at church unless he was physically unable.

BR> When I spoke for the very first time on behalf of Kayla's Rising Above Childhood Cancer Fund at my home church TUMC, he was sitting in the pew just as supportive as a family member would've been.

He was always beyond supportive of every ministry I have been called into, but what he never realized is that he was one of the people who played a major role in inspiring me to fullfill God's calling in my life.

At a revival this past year they were preaching on Paul and how even in old age Paul remained a faithful servant and all the good that he did.

Mr. Nathan got up at the nd of the service with a few inspiring words on how he knows that God still has a purpose for him.

I just pray that I can be as faithful, strong, and inspirational as Mr. Nathan Hale was.

I love you, Nathan, and you will be grately missed in this community.. As I know God has said to you already, "Well done good and faithful servant." --Kayla Garrison
