Mrs. Doris Boyd Puckett, 87, Green Co., KY (1927-2014)

Mrs. Puckett had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the James L. Pruitt Post 5813 Ladies Auxiliary Greensburg, KY, American Amateur Radio Club, Green County and Hart County Historical Societies. She was a native of Hardin County, KY, the daughter of the late Willim Tyra Boyd and Anna Mae Buckles Boyd. She leaves 21 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Doris Boyd Puckett, 87, departed this life Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Campbellsville Retirement Home, Campbellsville, KY.

The family chose cremation. There will be no service at this time.

Mrs. Doris Boyd Puckett was born January 17, 1927 in Glendale, Hardin County, KY, She was the daughter of the late Willim Tyra Boyd and Anna Mae Buckles Boyd. She departed this life Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Campbellsville Retirement Home, Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, having attained the age of 87 years and 11 months. Mrs. Puckett had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the James L. Pruitt Post 5813 Ladies Auxiliary Greensburg, KY, American Amateur Radio Club, Green County and Hart County Historical Societies.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Puckett, Jr.; one daughter: Geraldine Wilson; and one brother, Morris Boyd.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Richard "Ty" and Mary M. Puckett of Greensburg, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • One great-great grandchild

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends
