He died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 84 years, two months, and 24 days. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving two tours of duty in the Korean War and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War, while with the 7th Calvary. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 23 years.
