Barbara J. Stone, 79, formerly of Adair County, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Funeral service is Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. L.C. McCawley officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Saturday, December 13, 2014.

Barbara J. Stone, Adair Co., KY (1935-2014)

She was born Sunday, March 17, 1935, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence & Susie Kathreen Stephens McCawley. She died Thursday, December 11, 2014, in Scottsburg, Scott County, Indiana, at the age of 79 years, eight months, and 24 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Stone on April 28, 1993; one brother, Lorenze McCawley; and one sister, Joyce Glenn.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Dan & Gary (Kathy) Stone all of Scottsburg, IN

  • Four brothers: Norris McCawley of Columbia, KY; Robert McCawley of Scottsburg, IN; Lawrence McCawley, Jr. of Henryville, IN; and L.C. McCawley of Charlestown, IN

  • One sister: Brenda Mullins of Austin, IN

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren
