Pelham Branch families rescue dog after 25 ft. fall down cliff When Mark Willis' dog went missing, neighbors from five families helped in the search, and rescued him, him sore and hungry, from a 25 foot fall from a cliff over Russell Creek Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Lisa Sopha With the way people do not want to get involved, that's not the way with the neighbors of Pelham Branch Road of Columbia. Mark Willis's dog was missing since 2 am Sunday morning. Fuzzy Richards and Mark went looking for the dog. They had discovered that the dog fell down a 25 foot bank. This was very steep bank and the dog was at the bottom was Russell Creek. All the neighbors of five different families got rope and lowered Mark and a canoe down the bank to Russell Creek. A neighbor, Roger, and Mark were able to get the dog into the canoe and floated down stream. The dog was sore and hungry, but glad to be back home. This story was posted on 2014-12-07 18:36:49
