Mattigene Gaskin, 75, of Russell Springs, KY, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service for Mattigene Gaskin will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Greg Wade and Bro. Larold Gosser officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, November 26, 2014. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery. Special music will be povided by the Crossroads Quartet.


Pallbearers: Ricky Cravens, Greg Wilson, James Grimes, Joey Wilson, Reggie Roy, and Brandon Selby.

She was born Friday, June 23, 1939 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Orvis & Belva Sue Meece Wilson. She died Monday, November 24, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 75 years, four months, and one day.

She was a retired grocery store clerk and a member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Cravens, and Maxine Roy.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Pam (Gary) Copley, Dunnville, KY; and Tammy Wheeler, Columbia, KY

  • Grandaughter: Michelle Copley, Dunnville, KY

  • Sister: Loureda (Osburn) Roy, Russell Springs, KY

  • Brother: Lewell (Joy) Wilson, Russell Springs, KY
