Camp Boyle was on Campbellsville Road at the Barbee place Comments re article 71264 Wants to know location of Camp BoyleCamp Gilbert By Mike Watson Adair County Historian Camp Boyle was across Russell Creek, outside of town, on highway 55 north. There was a movement about a year ago to raise funds for a Kentucky Historical roadside marker, probably to be placed near the former Barbee BBQ locale. I think this project fell through the proverbial cracks with several other movements going on at the time. I would still like to see this marker project materialize. Bro. Paul Patton and I agreed to write text for a two-sided marker. Several pledges were made. Shall we try to revive this much-needed local history project? - Mike Watson Mike: I think the commitments reached around $700. We're still in; hope others will commit and re-commit.
