She was the widow of Vertress Roy. She leaves 62 direct living descendants. She was a member of Union Independent Baptist Church and a Homemaker.

Marcia Roy, 91, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away Monday, November 17th, at Fairoaks Nursing Home.

Funeral Services at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, at 10amCT, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, with Bro. Paul Roy and Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs. Interment will be in Union Cemetery Russell Springs, KY.


Marcia Roy, 91, Russell County, KY (1923-2014)

Marcia was born in Russell Springs, Russell County, Kentucky on July 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Mary Lee (Roy) and late Late McFarland. She died Monday, November 17, 2014, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 91 years, four months, and 12 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vertrese Roy.

She was a member of Union Independent Baptist Church and a Homemaker.

Marcia is survived by the following:
  • A daughter: Mary Whittle, of Jamestown, KY

  • Five sons: Jr. V. Roy, of Edmonton, KY; Larry A. Roy, of Russell Springs, KY; Danny L. Roy, of Windsor, KY; Dwight Roy, of Russell Springs, KY; and Steven Roy, of West Liberty, KY

  • Twenty-one grandchildren

  • Thirty-four great grandchildren

  • One great-great granddaughter

  • A sister: Myra Meece, of Jamestown, KY
