Demonstration plot was planted specifically for this field day.

By Nick Roy

Dairy producers can mark their calendars for the 2014 Center of KY Dairy Field Day to be held on November 4, 2014, at 10:00amCT at Marshall Irvin's farm, 1070 Bull Run Lane, in Adair County. A demonstration plot was planted specifically for this field day to demonstrate a diversity of forage crops and cover crops that can be utilized following corn silage.

See for yourself how these crops grow and how you may be able to fit them into your operation. Examples of crops planted include tillage radishes, crimson clover, various cereal grains, warm season annuals, and much more. For more information call the Adair County Extension Office at 270-384-2317, or visit our temporary location at 42 Grant Lane in Columbia. - Nick Roy Adair County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources
